The Ways of Love - 1

This story is about the concept of "love," and the realization that "appearance" is not the only factor involved with the concept, that there are other attributes that can be more powerful in producing that emotion.
Imagine for example, an intelligent but monstrous-looking alien from another star system coming to Earth. And regardless of It's awful appearance it possesses an aura of gentleness, understanding, and appreciation of human ethics and morals. If we are convinced that there is nothing to fear from "it," how soon after does "friendship" develop. And, if we humans, who get emotionally attached to dogs, cats, snakes and lizards, as pets, and who often consider them to be members of the "family," how soon after would we accept that alien in the same way?
Like the story infers, humans are very susceptible to "The Ways of Love".
